Hair Transplantation – The Basics
Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure in which healthy hair from the back of your scalp (the donor area) is transferred to bald or thinning areas. It can help restore your hairline, fill in a part or the crown of your head, or even give you a full head of hair. In addition to the surgical procedure, there are various treatments that can improve the results of a hair transplant.부산모발이식병원
Your doctor can discuss these options with you during a consultation. During a hair transplant, the surgeon will clean your scalp and then inject medicine to numb the area where the transplant will be performed. They may use a technique called follicular unit strip surgery or follicular unit extraction, depending on your situation and what they feel is the best method to achieve the most natural-looking result. Then, they’ll prepare the grafts by cutting them into smaller sections or creating small holes or slits in the scalp with a knife or needle. Depending on the size of your hair transplant, this process can take between four and eight hours.
The next step involves cutting a 6- to 10-inch strip of skin from the back of your scalp and setting it aside, which will be hidden by the hair surrounding it. This area of your scalp will serve as the foundation for the new, thicker hair that you’ll eventually get after the transplant. If the surgeon uses the follicular unit strip surgery technique, they’ll create a linear scar in the back of your scalp that will heal completely over time. If they use the follicular unit extraction method, there will be a slightly larger scar on your scalp, but it should still be hidden in your hair.
Once your grafts are placed, they’ll be covered with gauze and then wrapped with a bandage. You should remove the bandage a day or two after your hair restoration, but avoid vigorous physical activity for about five days. After that, you can begin to wash your hair, though you should avoid using shampoos that contain alcohol or salt and only use mild shampoos.
After a few months, the transplanted hair will begin to grow. Some of it will shed during this time, which is normal. But the new growth that does come through should be sufficient to hide any shedding that’s occurring.
After a few years, the transplanted hair should be dense and full enough to look natural and blend with your other, healthy hair. However, some people’s hair regrowth is slower than others’, and it can be difficult to achieve a full head of thick hair if you have very thin or light-colored hair. In these cases, more than one hair transplant session might be necessary to achieve the desired result. But if you follow the aftercare advice your doctor provides, you should be satisfied with your results.청담모바로의원
